Participation is more important than winning… No way, not as far as I’m concerned! 💪
If you’re as fanatic as I am, you want to win at any cost. “Good preparation” is not considered cheating, but shows your winning mentality! 😀👌

So here you go: 5 golden tips to always win when playing Kubb!
Even if you don’t win: you will still look like a pro with these tips!
Tip 1: Throwing technique
Lock your elbow, this will make it easier to aim.
For the perfect balance, always keep a throwing stick in your other hand (so don’t collect all of the throwing sticks in your empty hand). Just leave the rest on the floor.
It takes a bit of practice to have a perfect throw: always try to make the throwing stick rotate 180 degrees when throwing. This has been proven the best way.
It is important to not change your technique, keep throwing in the same way, even if it does not go well in the beginning.
Tip 2: throw into the field like a pro!
When one of your Kubbs gets thrown over, you have to throw the Kubb back into the field of your opponent. It is useful to position these Kubbs as close together as possible. This allows you to knock over several Kubbs in one single throw with your throwing!
Tip 3: try to place your opponent’s Kubbs as far apart as possible
When your opponent throws the knocked over Kubbs into your field, make sure to place them as far apart as possible. Because of this technique, he usually needs several throwing sticks to knock them over. This reduces the chance that your opponent will get to your Line-Kubbs.
If you cannot put them far apart, put them as close together as possible (even better, against each other). Blocks against each other are very difficult to throw over.
Tip 4: Always throw perpendicular to the Kubb
Always try to stand so that you are perpendicular to the Kubb (that the flat side is facing you), this will make your chance of impact is greatest!
Tip 5: the opponent fails twice, now you will almost certainly win!
If the opponent throws his knocked over Kubb out of the field twice, you have (almost) won. According the rules you may now decide where to place this “field Kubb”. Put this “field Kubb” as close to the king as possible. In his attempt to knock over the Kubb, the chance of them knocking over the king is about 99%. Congratulations!
Good luck with winning 😉
